Exploring Istanbul – The Vault Hotel

on
May 20, 2016

Exploring Turkey took us to Istanbul, a transcontinental city in Euroasia, country’s economic, cultural and historic center and as we could see the most populous city of the country too. Locals with a endless supply of hospitality and good humor at their disposal made us feel like home and we left hoping to come back soon. After hours flying, walking and searching we found an amazing hotel and we gonna tell you everything about it. Here’s our review of The Vault hotel

GETTING THERE

After a 7 hours flight from Porto passing by Milan to Istanbul we arrived to our destiny when the night was knocking the city’s door! Facing 1 more hour of traffic we walked through the city’s heart straight to Karakoy where ancient and modern Istanbul were bringing together

LOCATION

The House Hotel is located in the lively district of Karakoy, well-situated its structure retains our attention in original features with two back-to-back historic buildings giving life to the hotel design.

CHECKING IN

As we enter in the hotel a big and luxury lobby receive us following a wonderful reception by the staff that took our luggage to the room and explained historical facts of the building simultaneously

THE ROOM

Situated at the second floor, the room with a contemporary classic interior show us a luxury roof with beautiful paintings. Green and brown tones all over the room extend to the bathroom evoking a rare and amazing marble that completely seduce us. The room view was provided by two enormous windows allowing the light clarify the deepest details. Full of welcome drinks and supplies, comfortable robes and toiletries and a great WI-FI service that allowed us to get some work done, everything provided  us a fantastic stay.

THE BREAKFAST EXPERIENCE

Because breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we can’t miss it at all we got up at the early morning to enjoy the buffet breakfast. Many varieties of bread, fruit cheese and cereals made our morning coffee much more colorful in addition to the cooking service that provided us a creative menu where Turkish classic flavors are reinterpreted with a modern twist.Located at the ground floor, the breakfast area was surrounded by some art pieces we really appreciate by its beauty and quality!

HOTEL FACILITIES

Restored by the Agha Khan award-winning Turkish architect Han Tümertekin, designed by Sinan Kafadar of the Metex Group it’s not difficult to understand that modern and antique are present in this reborned bank, combined to  give a unique experience of luxury and wealth. Our favorite spot? The rooftop bar with an amazing view to the city, bridge and mosques around the Karakoy area. There we could take amazing photos and enjoy a refreshing drink at the end of afternoon.

THE VERDICT

The Vault Karakoy was better tnan we expected. Wealth, Luxury and Refinement are certainly the best words to describe what we experienced. Professional and friendly staff always available to help us and extremely well-situated facilities allowed us to explore Istanbul with maximum comfort.
