Tanjung Rhu Resort: Private beach Resort in Langkawi
Is there anything better than relaxing at a beautiful resort on the Northern coast of Langkawi Island, that offers a long sandy beach by the Andaman Sea? We don’t think so! We spent a month exploring the beautiful country of Greece, and we must say travelling can be quite tiring when it involves island-hopping and a road. We were in desperate need of relaxation, and Tanjung Rhu Resort was the model of privacy and tranquillity wanted. Here is our experience in this 1,100 acres of beautiful nature.
Check-In
We arrived at the hotel reception around 2 pm, welcomed by a friendly staff who promptly explained a few features about the Resort. From the resort entrance, we could contemplate a beautiful garden right in the middle of the hotel. A few minutes later, we followed one of the staff members to our room, where he presented the room and explained a few minor details.
The room
The building was conceived in “o” shape, surrounding a fantastic garden with a few fountains, resembling a small Oasis. Our room, located on the second floor, was very spacious with four areas: living room, bedroom, wardrobe room and bathroom. The room had a small balcony where you could enjoy a few drinks while admiring the garden. Next to the bathtub, there was a charming window connecting the bathroom to the living room. Fruits were available as well as an unlimited supply of water during our stay.
The pool
We got really surprised and happy when we realised that Tanjung Rhu Resort had not only one, but two swimming pools. The one located next to the gym and spa was meant for families, the other one just for adults was situated on the other side of the resort, next to the restaurants. We spent most of the time at the pool since we needed to reacher batteries and to be honest, both of them were perfect for watching the sunset while enjoying a cocktail.
The breakfast
Nothing better than starting the day with a good breakfast, don’t you agree? Tanjung Rhu Resort provided an exceptional variety of products from Western food to a vast range of Asian cuisine. Breakfast was served at the Sands restaurant, where you could contemplate a small river while
The restaurants
Most of our meals were done at Tanjung Rhu Resort, and we were delighted by their delicious food both at The Sands restaurant and Chef’s Table. The Sands restaurant offered international and Asian dishes with fabulous beach views. Chef’s Table, with an exquisite atmosphere, provided more sophisticated Asian dishes
The Beach
Tanjung Rhu Resort resort beach is one of the best beaches we’ve been! White sand, crystal clear blue water and limestone islands at walking distance. Whenever it was low tide people could walk until the small islands and see all the different fish and underwater animals. We got mesmerised by the vast animal diversity and beauty of the area, and we could easily spend the whole day there just embracing this place. In case of a storm or if the tide was already going up, one of the security staff would whistle so we would know we had to come back from the island as soon as possible. The beach itself was perfect for walking, and you could play volleyball and football.
The verdict
If you’re looking for a relaxing and peaceful stay, disconnected from the world and enjoy a few days by yourself, Tanjung Rhu Resort is the answer. We loved our stay at this slice of paradise, and we recommend this place if you’re looking to recharge your batteries.
