Our Favourite 5 star Hotel in Sukhumvit Bangkok

We are no strangers to Bangkok, it’s a must visit during all our trips to Southeast Asia and a main hub for travelers and explorers going around Thailand.

From all the areas in the city our top favorite is by far Sukhumvit that is home to fancy apartments, beautiful shopping malls, restaurants, bars, clubs and lots of Thai culture on every Soi. Popular among foreign visitors and expats, it becomes more and more a melting pot of cultures making it unique and memorable.

During our last trip to Bangkok we  had the pleasure to stay at 137 Pillars Suites Bangkok and it was by far the best decision we could have done. The kind of service and luxury we got was beyond perfect and we are thrilled to share with you some of the highlights of our stay in our favorite 5 star hotel in Sukhumvit Bangkok.

Location

Set in the heart of Bangkok’s upscale Emquartier & Emporium Shopping area and in the heart of fashionable Thonglor district.   The hotel is located in a quiet area with a lot of Local scene to explore and with a free mini van every 30 minutes taking us to the main road where we could get the Sky train to explore other areas of town or enjoy the great malls around.  The suite we stayed in was on one of the highest floors and this of course means that we had killer views over Sukhumvit area.

Rooms

We went for the Sukhothai suite and we were impressed with how homely it felt. With high thread counts, marble showers and a stunning bathtub, big screens and electronic controls for everything, we felt that it was hard to actually leave the room and go explore the city.  The suite had a large furnished balcony with views over Bangkok and it was perfect to relax after spending the day exploring Bangkok .

We loved the living room area , enjoyed the massive and comfortable bed and had a blast with their special toilet.

Swimming Pool

Since we were guests of the Suites we had exclusive access to the  infinity pool on the rooftop is one of the most memorable spots in this stunning Hotel as it has no barriers and made us feel like we were floating above the city when in the water.  There’s a second pool on the 27th floor right next to the impressive Marble Bar that is also the perfect spot to enjoy a drink while contemplating the views.

Amenities

Sophistication, elegance, and opulence permeated this fantastic hotel, from the marble floors to the massive chandeliers and decoration.  While the rooms are serviced daily with a turn-down service and replenished with toiletries, fruit and cake each day, guests also have access to a 24-hour butler service. Our Butler was kind and friendly and extremely helpful for our exploring days around town with great insights of the local culture.

The breakfast was served every monring at the  Leonowens Club with an impressive , well-chosen variety of local and international dishes. We gotta admit that our favorite were the Egg Benedict and the delicious Belgium Waffles.   Many of the breakfast ingredients come from their own garden which is a lovely touch.

The afternoon Tea and the daily Sunset cocktails were one of the highlights of our stay.

If you are a sporty person you will love the Gym area. The gym is well-equipped and guests may book yoga and Muay Thai sessions on the spot what is a great way to experience a bit of the Thai culture.

Summing Up

We must say that 137 Pillars is one of the most lovely and  relaxing Hotels we’ve ever stayed at. There is this wonderful vibe about this hotel, it was more than just a place to stay. If felt extremely good to have such a great base with kind and helpful staff during our stay and allowing us to take a peaceful break from the wild city that is Bangkok. We highly recommend 137 Pillars Bangkok as a place to stay in Bangkok if you are looking for an exclusive and Luxurious experience in the Sukhumvit area.
